Research on Conflict Resolution and Peace

The City provides a framework in which international teams of researchers from a variety of disciplines, artists, musicians, social workers, and other professionals develop their own initiatives and/or participate in the projects of the Institute for Coexistence Studies and Intercultural Mediation in Lugano, Switzerland. Its activities include interdisciplinary research projects, training programs, seminars, exhibitions, and concerts.

Education and Training

In cooperation with universities and other academic institutions, as well as worldwide organizations and foundations, the members of the netwrok as well as the Institute in Lugano offer seminars and courses on the multifaceted cultures of peace for students as well as for experts from the economic and industrial sector. The topics of the courses and seminars range from Coexistence Studies to interecultural management and technology.

Public and Social Work

A main objective of the City is the distribution of knowledge about conflict resolution and peace via seminars, lecture series, expositions, and virtual reality shows. Activities address not only those working in the cultural and academic sector, media, business, and industry, but also the broad public. The City supports social work in different areas and the organization of charity performances.
